A new local non-profit is spinning up in Pensacola, Florida which was inspired by the desire to help the homeless population in the area. Huts 4 Our Friends has recently leased a 12,000 sq ft building that could house up to 150 people, and their vision is to not only provide safe shelter for the homeless, but also offer free, effective resources to help rehabilitate tenants.
Pensacola Positivity is partnering with Huts 4 Our Friends, led by Caleb Houston, and has already brought 100 sack lunches for his team who are on site and helping launch this dream. Pensacola Positivity is assisting with gathering donations of clothing, kitchen supplies, bed linens, hygiene items, bath towels, mattresses, washers/dryers, non-perishable food items. At the Sunday Markets on Palafox, there will be t-shirts for sale to support Huts 4 Our Friends, collecting cash donations, and spreading the word to help create awareness of this new local resource.
If you have any donations, they can be donated at one of the Sunday Markets on Palafox, or you can contact us through Pensacola Positivity’s website (www.pensacolapositivity.com) to coordinate a donation (especially if a generously large donation!).
